‘Isolation’ is an exhibition that talks about the past history of Veenhuizen and also gives an interpretation of what is isolation nowadays. This project was commissioned by Veenhuizen.

Veenhuizen was a historically isolated village in the Netherlands in the past. Through the exhibition I wanted people to not only take the information of the village but the experience of the isolation personally.

The exhibition starts from the outside showing the past history of isolation of the village through photos. It continues inside the Museum Centre Veenhuizen, leading the topic isolation more personal and present to people. There are 4 installations which offer the visitors to make their own interpretation of isolation while experiencing the exhibition depending on their personal memories.
